Western Mass Parrothead Club Meeting Minutes Monday – August 7, 2006

1. Review & Approve Minutes from April 2006 meeting - Approved

2. Trivia Game – run by Tanya

a. Scott Simpson won Breakers Billiard evening for free pool access for him and 4 guests.

b. Everyone else who played won a $10 of Gift Certificates

3. Parrothead donations for Troops in Iraq party – Marianne will box and ship.

a. 5 boxes of goodies to troops

b. Donations raised for box shipments – plenty for all 5 boxes

c. As soon as pictures posted Marianne will let everyone know.

4. Report on Summer Events

a. Boat Cruise – cancelled due to severe weather conditions

b. Concert – Mohegan Sun – Marianne & Keith

a) Played to clubs behind the stage for Mohegan Sun concert.

b) Nancy explained how impressed Frank was because you could see the behind the scenes activity.

c) Drop Marianne an email if interested in the Madison Square Garden if they become available Marianne will let you know.

c. Sunny Jim and John Frinzi – Autism Fundraiser – Marianne & Keith

a) Final figure on what we are donating is $700 from the WMPHC.

b) Raun talked regarding the center and what it was like to grow-up with Autism.

d. Sarah Luce’s Relay for Life Team dance – Barbara and Scott or Ann

a) Sarah’s team came in first place of all for fundraisers – she’ll get the I-pod.

b) Sarah is in Paul Newman’s camp, where she feels right at home.

5. Reminder of upcoming events schedule

a. MOTM - Key West - almost sold out Register today! – Marianne

a) SOLD OUT – they hit their 3500 mark.

b. Connecticut Club Party – Saturday, August 26th Marianne

a) Sign up food – Benefiting the American Cancer Society, $5 per child, $10 per adult – will be an event that is counted to points

b) Marianne will send out Mark’s email again.

c) Club list of who’s going and what they will bring.

c. Memory Walk – Sunday, October 1st – Stanley Park, Westfield, MA Chairperson – Mike Gagne

a) Validated date and time.

b) We’ll do same as last year.

d. HARVEST PARTY - Oct. 21, 2006 - Nancy

Raffle Tickets – Nancy will send out as the time gets closer

Will do the same stuff as last year, pumpkin carving, cupcakes, dunking for apples

Dress down days from the school that Doug Walsh, money is donated to Ronald McDonald house.

Start picking up little things for stockings, something small for the parents. The $30 limit for each child was accepted as the amount.

f. Autism Walk – Oct 15, 2006 – Sheffield, MA

Not an official club event, but any member interested in going can go.

g. Big E Float – Saturday, Sept 30, 2006

6. New Web location support through 1and1.com - Karen

a. Up and running with individual accounts.

b. Any suggestions for what people want to see.

c. Different sections for tighter control.

d. Monthly updates if all goes well.

e. Can set-up forwarding emails now available for any club member that wants a user account on WMPHC site. Speak with Aimlessly Wandering Richard for details.

7. Non-Profit registration Update – Tanya

a. Application is 19 pages long.

b. Working with other clubs treasurers.

8. 2007 Parrothead Convention Update – Karen

a. Theme for the basket is a folding tempered glass top table with 4 chairs and a 40Qt Coleman Roller Cooler.

b. North Falmouth – Nautical Whalers – go to their website.

9. Hurricane T-Shirt signing for Las Vegas Margaritaville. Still have a couple of club members to get to sign the shirt. Last Members – out of here.

10. Bead Game Update – Marianne

a) Prizes from On the Border, Home Depot, Westfield – Matt Cools

b) Looking for donations – approach companies stating that this is an incentive for club members.

c) Richard has the most at this point in time

11. Round Table.

a. Club T-shirts are still available if anyone’s interested.

b. Sending 30 hurricane t-shirts to the troops.

c. Give T-shirts for the parents of the RMH kids’ parents.

d. Convention 2010 -

a) Holyoke Holiday Inn – no call back

b) Best Western looking as a possible place.
